The Piedmont Countryside Scholarship is a new program supporting local high school students as they pursue higher education at a university, community college, or technical school. Open to students connected to the Piedmont community, including the children of landowners, employees, and supporters, the scholarship recognizes those inspired by equestrian sport, conservation, open space, and the countryside.
One-time grants of up to $2,500 are awarded by the Piedmont Countryside Scholarship Committee based on applicants’ experiences, goals, and alignment with PFHCF values, with the opportunity to reapply in future years. Applicants submit an essay, resume, and two letters of recommendation. Scholarship recipients may be recognized through PFHCF media and events, celebrating their achievements and commitment to the future of the northern Piedmont.

Open to high school students in the northern Piedmont region who are applying to a college, community college, or technical school and seeking to further their education in ways that support and preserve the region and its community.
The scholarship is administered by the Piedmont Countryside Scholarship Committee, appointed by the PFHCF Board. Selections are made without regard to race, nationality, gender, or religion, and recommendations are submitted to the Board for approval.
One-time awards of up to $2,500 are recommended by the Committee and approved by the PFHCF Board, with applicants eligible to reapply in future years.
