The Piedmont Fox Hounds Conservation Fund’s 2025 Annual Report offers an opportunity to look back at a year of meaningful work and, just as importantly, to recognize the people who make that work possible.
Founded in 2021, PFHCF is dedicated to conserving Virginia’s Piedmont open spaces and rural landscapes while supporting the sustainability of equestrian and sporting hound activities. Its work centers on building awareness of the long-term care needed to protect the countryside, preserving wildlife habitat and supporting the people who steward the land.
The 2025 Annual Report highlights the many ways PFHCF continued that mission throughout the year. From educational programs and landowner resources to conservation support and opportunities for young people, the Fund’s work reflects a commitment to looking beyond the present and considering what is needed to keep the Piedmont’s landscapes and traditions strong for generations to come.
A particularly important part of that work is education. PFHCF helps connect landowners and members of the community with information about responsible land management and conservation practices. The Fund also supports opportunities that introduce younger generations to the skills, knowledge and traditions connected to the countryside, including scholarships and internships at the Piedmont Fox Hounds stables and kennels.
The report also reflects the strength of a community working toward a shared purpose. Conservation is not accomplished by one organization alone. It depends on landowners who care for their properties, volunteers who give their time and expertise, donors who provide essential financial support, and sponsors and community partners who help turn ideas into programs.
PFHCF is deeply grateful to every person who contributed to its work in 2025. Whether through a financial gift, volunteer hours, participation in an event, professional expertise, a willingness to share knowledge or simply a continued belief in the importance of protecting the Piedmont, each contribution matters.
The Annual Report is ultimately more than a record of what PFHCF accomplished during the year. It is a reflection of what can happen when a community comes together with a common appreciation for open land, wildlife, responsible stewardship and the sporting traditions that are woven into the history of the Virginia Piedmont.
As PFHCF looks ahead, the organization remains grateful for the trust and support that have made its work possible. To the donors, volunteers, landowners, sponsors, program participants and friends who continue to stand behind the Conservation Fund, thank you. Your support helps protect not only the landscape we know today, but the opportunity for future generations to experience, care for and carry forward the Piedmont’s unique countryside and traditions.
