The Piedmont Fox Hounds Conservation Fund (PFHCF) hosted its second annual Conservation Cup Golf Tournament on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club in Front Royal, Virginia. The tournament brought together golfers and conservation supporters for a day on the course in support of PFHCF’s ongoing efforts to preserve the open countryside, natural habitats and sporting traditions of Virginia’s Piedmont region.
The annual tournament provides an opportunity for friends and supporters of the Conservation Fund to enjoy a day of golf while contributing to the organization’s conservation and educational initiatives. All proceeds from the event benefit PFHCF and its programming, which includes support for land conservation, educational resources for rural landowners and opportunities for young people to gain hands-on experience in the equestrian and sporting communities.
Taking top honors on the course were three teams. First place went to William Barnes, Sam Barnes, Christ Thompson and Joe Sorge. Second place was awarded to Andrew Stifler, Wayne VanSant, Mike Tate and Jim Frye, followed by third-place finishers Dale Dillon, Joe Lane, Josh Elliot and Erice Adler.
Special thanks go to Daphne Alcock and Jerry Dabrowski for their time, dedication and hard work in organizing the tournament again and helping make the second annual Conservation Cup possible. Their efforts, along with the participation and support of the golfers, sponsors and volunteers, help advance the Conservation Fund’s mission and sustain its work throughout the Piedmont.
Through events such as the Conservation Cup, PFHCF continues to bring people together around a shared commitment to protecting the landscape, traditions and rural character that make Virginia’s Piedmont so distinctive.
